Happy Friday-eve, readers! 😉🍂 & to top it off, the fall weather we’ve been having in Ohio has been perfect this past week; the vivid orange and brown hues, the crisp breeze & all the fall layers!
One huge trend this season is suede. And another style that’s slithered it’s way back into the fashion scene (which I’m so happy about!) is snap-front mini skirts. LIKE HELLO, yes, please give me all of them + every color of tights! 🤗😍 but seriously, these take me back to my early grade school days… #tbt.
I snagged this fun suede skirt from Old Navy, & it pairs with so much! Again, staples are key. 😉 I paired this with a classic cream sweater from way back in the day, but it’s adorable with a plain or patterned turtleneck or a black & White stripped tee. Throw on neutral tights + your favorite booties & you’re set for the day! (Ps: I featured these show-stopper booties in my last blog post – check it out!)
Have you dived into the snap-front skirts again?! If so, what do you love to pair with it? I’d love to hear!
Happy hump day, readers! We made it half way through the week 🙌🏻 AND it’s beginning to (finally) feel a lot like fall! 🎃🍂🐿 I love the cool morning air and warm afternoon sunshine – it helps make the getting-dark-early-part of fall bareable. 😌
As we’re moving into the cooler weather comes fun & fresh patterns & textures to rock!! For me, it’s primarily in the office. 💁🏻 hey, who said office-ware can’t be stylish?!
So I’m obsessed with lace! However, lace can be either classy or trashy (IMO). BUT Loft never fails @ showcasing some pretty rad lace, especially this tunic!
I discovered this gem at the Loft Outlet this past weekend, and I’ve linked a similar one here from Madewell. 😊 I paired this with a pair of simple Columnsit black pants from EXPRESS, along with these KILLER leopard hide/black booties! Oh my gah. 😍 talk about a statement shoe! The mix of lace & leopard print in one outfit is my FAVORITE combo so far this season!
I spotted these at G.H. Bass Outlet and new they were winners. It’s like business in the back and party in the front! 🎉 If you’re ever on the hunt for good shoes that are stylish but don’t break the bank, check out G.H. Bass & Co. (they always have great sales, too).
I finished off the look with loose curls, a pigmented rosey-pink lipstick (Kate Moss, 17) and a pendant necklace, and violá!
What is your top fall look, for work or play?! How do you mix your textures & patterns? 🎀 I’d love to hear!
Hi, & happy Sunday (fun-day) all! Talk about a gorgeous weeknight after a week full of wild storms – the rain was quite cleansing. 🌞🌼
If you’re like me, whenever you hear the word brunch, your heart stops & skips a beat. But really. Especially Sunday morning brunch because it’s the best way to start the last day of the weekend (or that’s what I keep telling myself). 😉
With brunch must also come the perfect outfit. I’m a fan of mixing textures and patterns to bring my personality into my outfits – I encourage that for all of you, too!
Today I paired this vintage-esque jean vest (Old Navy, via Goodwill a few years ago) with these bold floral shorts (Old Navy, this season)! 🌸🌸🌸 I love a good pattern. Speaking of, I have them in Pixie Pants, too!
AND I found these KILLER ballerina flats in a creamy nude at Target! They add a bit of flare to any outfit. I also added a cognac belt and three-tier beaded necklace. Super comfy and incredibly “me.” Remember, life isn’t perfect, but your outfit can be. 😉💖
The tote is actually REVERSIBLE (GH Bass & Co.)! So the inside is a warm cognac color. It’s great to carry as a catch all, too!
Do you have a favorite brunch or weekend outfit for this summa weather?! I’d love to hear!
As winter feels like it’s officially setting in here in Columbus, warm layers are 🗝!
I get so bored with leggings and jeans… ALAS cargo pants have made a HUGE comeback! I honestly never thought I’d make that statement, ever. The pockets add a bit of texture and pizzazz to the pants – subtle and not too crazy!
I’ve paired these bad boys with my all-time-favorite turtleneck! I love this piece because it’s comfy, stripped (perfect basic pattern) and is long enough to cover the goodies! 😉 What more could you ask for?! Shoutouts to Target for all then good goods, too!
You can pair a look like this with a fun and sassy necklace, too! This long pendant necklace (Vernacular) is always my top pick for nearly any outfit because of the mix of wood + clear beads, gold accents and opaque pendant. Easy breezy!
To finish, these new, grey velvet, chunky pumps from Target are where it’s at. They’re a bit different but can be the perfect finish for lots of looks. Plus, they’re just the right amount of sass. 😉
Alright! What are some of your favorite recent buys?! What do you pair them with (new or old)?
Until next time, Xx
Ps: I love this quote – “Life isn’t perfect but your outfit can be.” I feel this rings true. Life isn’t always controllable. But what you wear is 100% within your control. Make it count!
Happy Monday, ya’ll! While it’s the start of another week, there is fall beauty all around– from crisp orange and maroon leaves to the cool, night wind. And with that comes fun fall fashion looks!
Today’s look consisted of a couple solid pieces of different textures! I picked up this oh so cozy and comfy A-line dress at my favorite shop in Columbus, Vernacular! The pull over dress is as warm as wool without the itchiness- there’s even a thick lining underneath! The best part: black velvet elbow patches to add a bit of sass and flare! For work and warmth, I paired this with my favorite pair of yummie tummie black velvet leggings (an amazing line created by Heather Tomson). These leggings are so warm and are a variation of silver/black. These brown leather booties are a a perfect neutral pop of color! I’m not normally too much into olive green, but this dress is a classic fall shade.
Ok, let’s hear it, what’s your favorite fall dress? What’s your “go-to” comfy look?
As promised, here is one of my favorite topics I wanted to share with you all: Wardrobe Staple Pieces! Woot woot!
As I’m still freshly new at my job, and the dress code is business casual/jean appropriate I want to continue to build my wardrobe with with pieces I can match for a whole slue of outfits! + I think it’s so fun to mix and match pieces to creat new and fun outfits for any occasion.
Here’s just a few fab pieces I’m looking to buy this summer:
1. Navy blazer: navy pieces can go with so many different colors, such as coral, white, grey, tan, white, yellow, other shades of blue, etc. I’m so excited to pair this with a coral peplum top I recently bought at Express, and with dark or light jeans- high waisted or hip-rise! Ahhh, and patterns! I think a patterned top would look stellar with a simple navy blazer.
2. Oxfords: I always seen young women sporting Oxfords, from black to tan to navy. Honestly, I really like tan/nude oxfords because I think they could pair with a wider variety of colors. Seriously, you could wear these little lace up shoes with a fun neutral, casual dress, jeans or even navy pants. The opportunities are endless!
3. High waisted black pants: While I do have a pair, I want another brand of black pants (mine are a little too stretchy for my taste….). At the same time, I wear these with so many different outfits- casual or work- based on the top(s) I’m wearing. They look so chic with pointed toed heels or flats and a skinny black belt! So many possibilities. + black goes with nearly any color (aside from navy).
I found all of these items on Old Navy’s website- a place I haven’t really shopped before… definitely some cute finds!
So bloggers, what are some staple items you currently own or want to own in the future? What do you pair them with?
Until next time, Xx
PS- A good friend of mine introduced me to a local boutique here in Columbus, OH called Vernacular. I have never liked nearly every piece at a store/boutique until I walked into one of their two locations! Check out Vernacular on their website at vernacular.myshopify.com or on their Facebook– they have a very interesting history, too! It’s slightly pricey, but all are pieces you wouldn’t find at a “big box” shop… Happy shopping!
