Simple Staples

Hey there, readers! ๐Ÿท Happy Sunday! I hope you had a day full of rest & so much self-care. โœจ๐Ÿ’•

Since the chillier months require warm, cozy layers, I’m throwing it back to a couple simple staples for this post!

Sweaters are always a must, especially if they’re neutral. This lovely oversized, ruffle cowl neck sweater is the perfect piece for date night or out-&-about on a weekend! The high-low hem + ruffles add just the right amount of personality, too.

My second (& latest obsession) staple are Universal Thread’s high-rise straight jeans! The medium wash is flattering for any skin tone & works for day or night – like I always say, multi-purpose is the best! On a quick side note: you must check out Universal Thread next time you’re perusing Target. They have some gorgeous staples – ranging from shoes, purses, tees & of course, denim for days! ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ‘–

So even though it’s chilly & possibly snowing this time of year, you can easily put together a fun + flattering staple-filled outfit!

Thanks for reading! Here’s to a beautiful week ahead! ๐Ÿ’–

Twirling into 2018 (in the best dresses) โœจ

It’s a beautiful Saturday evening filled with snow (some ice) & lots of wine – life couldn’t get much sweeter. โ„๏ธ๐Ÿท how are you spending one of the first Saturdays of the new year!?

Although it’s winter & the temps are nearly unknown every day, I can’t get enough of dresses this time of year! I’ve put together a little collection of a few of my faves for the season, for all occasions!:

– A night out ft. all the tulle

I’m so in love with tulle. It constantly reminds me of Carrie Bradshaw & her dangerously unique fashion sense in the Big City! I found this flare midi dress Express – plus, it’s on supperrr sale right now! The plunging neckline in the front and back adds the perfect amount of sexy. I paired this with a pair of stills to velvet black booties from Old Navy; usually I wouldn’t pair navy + black together, but the two compliment each other here! These boots are incredible versatile, too. You can rock booties like this in the office with dress pants, with jeans for a more casual look or for a night out – the options are endless. Get you a pair!

– Casual black dress with a flare

Every gal should own a solid T-shirt dress that you can wear any time of the year! This baby is part of Who What Wear’s Target collection, and features puffy sleeves. This minimal detail adds lots of pep + attitude to a wardrobe staple!

For the office, I paired this classic with burgundy tights, cheetah print booties for a little pattern & a neutral statement necklace… voila!

– A skirt to remember (also reminiscent of Carrie Bradshaw)

I’m a huge fan of high-waisted skirts! They’re so fun as you can usually pair solids or patterns with them depending on your vibes. ๐Ÿค— this grey pleated skirt came from a local boutique, Vernacular! It’s a heavier material but feels incredibly light while wearing – what more could you ask for?! I wanted to keep the look neutral as the booties top the look off!

Side note: I rarely mix patterns… I’m generally nervous to. However, here, the two work together as they’re not on top of one another, competing.

Reader: do you mix patterns often? Do you have any pro tips?!

Well, here’s to a magical 2018! ๐Ÿฅ‚ Thanks for reading!

Mock Top Love

Hey, hi, hello! Ok, it’s been far too long… for now, I’ll blame it on my obsession over decorating our apartment for the holidays. Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited! All the pine scents, lights & copious amounts of hot cocoa. ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐ŸŽ„ Sheer perfection.

Like many folks, i delved into the holiday spirit by doing some mad shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday (which now extends into Tuesday, too!). Without question, my favorite finds this year were these mock turtlenecks from Old Navy! Plus, they’re on sale right now for $8!

I can’t say enough how much I love adding staples to my wardrobe. These mock tops are perfect because they’re a casual enough fabric to wear with jeans or dress up a look with colored pants. They have a textured ribbed look, and are so warm as the temps are dropping it like it’s… freezing. Plus, these mock tops are so fun with booties or mules! Like hi, yes. I’m also in love with mules. I’m thrilled these came back into the fashion whirl! They’re incredible vintage yet chic for any outfit.

So what were your top Black Friday or Cyber Monday fashion finds?! What are your thoughts on be comeback of mules? I’d love to hear!

Navy / Weekend Wear

Happy Sunday, babes! โ˜•๏ธ Itโ€™s finally feeling like the cool, crisp autumn weโ€™ve been waiting for ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒž PRAISE!

With this change in weather comes a shift in wardrobe. On a brief side note: I feel as though my taste in clothing has altered so much since graduating from college. Now, I search for staple pieces that can be worn in the office and out with the girls or my boyfriend at night. With that, Iโ€™m all about the sweaters, long or fitted, blanket scarves, plaid or solids and all the warm, dark fall colors! ๐Ÿค—

I recently found this killer navy, double-peplum sweatshirt from Banana Republic. Iโ€™m obsessed! Itโ€™s pairs perfectly with these knee-ripped, high low hem jeans from Target, plus (throwback!) these gold mules by Franco Sarto (I found this pair at Mashallโ€™s). Hi, yes! Iโ€™m over-the-moon-in-love with mules this season! Theyโ€™re different, fun, casual & super easy for any outfit. You need to get a pair. Or five. ๐Ÿ˜‰

What is your go-to weekend wear? Are there any colors or patterns youโ€™re excited to rock this season?! Iโ€™d love to hear! ๐Ÿ˜€

Falling for (Fall) Florals

Hi hi, readers! ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ‚ My favorite time of year is here, where the air smells of sea salt & maple everything, PSLs are all the rave & warm, dark florals are so in! ๐ŸŒป

Aside from my obsessions with fall-scented candles & PSLs, I swoon over Target’s fall clothing pieces. Every. Single. Time! One of their newer lines, Who What Wear, is prime.

The bubble sleeves, the auburn florals & the pinstripes, SAY WHAAAT?! Yes. All in one. You need to check out this bubble sleeve shirt. No joke!

I love pieces that can easily transition from work to casual. Those are the pieces that build a staple wardrobe to can carry on for seasons. Pair this with a pair of navy pants and cognac heels, you’re set from 9-5. Switch it up for after hours with destroyed denim, a statement necklace & brown leather ankle booties.

Alright all! What is your favorite fall fashion piece/style/pattern? How do you rock it?! I’d love to hear! ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒพ

Sweet Little Somethings

Hi there, HELLO! Happy Tuesday, readers! Let me just start off by gabbing about this absolutely gorgeous summer weather today – like all sun & cool breezes 😁🌞 that's what I'm talking about, Ohio!

I feel as though embroidery was HUGE when I was in grade school! I remember the "hip" embroidered, bootcut jeans and jean jackets like it was yesterday. Low & behold, embroidery is making a bold comeback!

My newest find is this jaw-dropping button down with gorgeous embroidered florals. The details in the stitches and the dainty bell sleeves flow so naturally. This top is so sweet. 🌸🌼 To top it off, you can find this at Target, babes!

My favorite part of this is the fact that the buttons are hidden with an over-layer – simple but adds a bit of class, & this blouse can be worn for business casual or out-&-about on a Saturday! I love dual-purpose pieces. & I LOVE the pattern underneath the flowers – mixing texture & colors. 😉

What "sweet little somethings" clothing piece are you over-the-moon about?! Feel free to share!

Special shoutout to one of my colleagues, Mai, for making me the adorable origami fashion pieces!

Sunday Brunch Best

Hi, & happy Sunday (fun-day) all! Talk about a gorgeous weeknight after a week full of wild storms – the rain was quite cleansing. ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒผ

If you’re like me, whenever you hear the word brunch, your heart stops & skips a beat. But really. Especially Sunday morning brunch because it’s the best way to start the last day of the weekend (or that’s what I keep telling myself). ๐Ÿ˜‰

With brunch must also come the perfect outfit. I’m a fan of mixing textures and patterns to bring my personality into my outfits – I encourage that for all of you, too!

Today I paired this vintage-esque jean vest (Old Navy, via Goodwill a few years ago) with these bold floral shorts (Old Navy, this season)! ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ I love a good pattern. Speaking of, I have them in Pixie Pants, too!

AND I found these KILLER ballerina flats in a creamy nude at Target! They add a bit of flare to any outfit. I also added a cognac belt and three-tier beaded necklace. Super comfy and incredibly “me.” Remember, life isn’t perfect, but your outfit can be. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’–

The tote is actually REVERSIBLE (GH Bass & Co.)! So the inside is a warm cognac color. It’s great to carry as a catch all, too!

Do you have a favorite brunch or weekend outfit for this summa weather?! I’d love to hear!
