Hello, hello, and happy Friday-eve, everyone! ✨ Ahh, I hope you all enjoyed the Summer Solstice this week, especially as the toasty temps are hitting hard already! Like HEY, what’s up, hello, summer! 🌞🌞🌞
Along with welcoming the change in season, I did my typical wardrobe shopping binge (I say binge but I seriously only jump on the deals. I mean you have to)! A new season is the reason for new clothes 💁🏻 right, ladies?!
It hits right at the waist, so not too long and not too short. This warm oatmeal shade is truly neutral so it can be paired with nearly every color and pattern! It’s also a prime staple piece. 🌸
While it’s a super casual top that’s seriously so cozy, I jazzed it up for the office with a triple strand of pearls – seriously, if you’re ever on the hunt for costume jewelry, scavenge estate sales or garage sales in your area – super eclectic and fun!
I love these because they’re dressy but not over the top crazy. They have a kitty cork wedge to add just a bit of height, too! These bad boys look stellar with skinny black dress pants and destroyed denim jeans – so basically perfect for the office and the weekend. It’s a win win.
What are some of your top summer buys for your wardrobe? Is there an essential you feel every girl should have?! 👗👛
Happy (almost) Sunday, readers! Today was beyond gorgeous – bright blue skies, low humidity, 88 degrees and a gleaming sun. What more can you ask for?! 🌞
As this summer’s fashion trends have been rolling out, florals and bold colors have been HUGE! Now, don’t get me wrong, patterns and bold colors can undoubtedly be intimidating. The key to all things intimindation is confidence. If you dig the all-over, funky pattern, you rock it with confidence! Trust me, it will make every single outfit.
I found the most fun patterned Pixie pants and shorts from Old Navy recently.
I love these pants because you can mix a solid or a subtle pattern for the top to add a bit more sass & fun! The aloha flowers make me wish I were on vacation like no other. Also, I’m obsessed with Pixie pants in general – they’re always a perfect fit.
These coral palm tree printed shorts are more than perfect. They’re long but not too long, like “mom-long.” I paired these with a white tunic from Old Navy for a casual & chic summer look. These bad boys are my new favorite shorts. 🌴
No matter the color, no matter the pattern, always wear confidence. Life can’t be perfect, but your outfit can be. 🎀
What are some of your most loved summer patterns or pieces?
Happy Saturday, readers! Ok, was it just me or was this week nearly the longest week ever?! I guess the time change still has me like 😴…. BUT, it’s the weekend so time to enjoy some “you” time! 💕✨
So once the weekend zooms on by and Monday morning comes around, do you ever rack your mind of what to wear? I definitely do (actually, every day). I try to focus on a couple things when I put together a typica work outfit:
Bold statement necklace
This is one of my latest favorites! I’ve always been obsessed with tulle – chic and just enough feminine. Black pants are an easy go-to, and I popped the outfit with cheetah print heels and a jeweled necklace. The cognac belt ties the neutrals and pattern all together. Voilà!
What is your typical work outfit? Do you focus on one piece or have a specific go-to?! I want to hear!!
Hello & happy Satur-YAY, readers! BLESS UP for a little relaxation & self-care after a long week. ✨💕
Despite the dropping temps here in Ohio, I for one am so ready for spring! I mean pastels, florals & patterns for days… all of my current wardrobe obsessions are definitely springing into spring…
I fell in love with this Vine Mixed Media Sweater T. It’s almost like a basic in the front with a party around back – HEEEYY! The sheer floral back is gathered, almost like a high peplum, & the navy shade is to die for.
Bonuses: it’s a high-low top – so hi, yes, perfect to tuck in in the front, & there’s baby pink hues in the florals. Navy & light pink together are gorg, always. 🌸
Next is this beautiful Henley top with bell sleeves, which are make a HUUGE comeback (yay)! The top’s textured pinstripes and buttons are paired perfectly, too. Plus, who doesn’t look good in baby blue?!
A gray blazer is a must. I wear this all year round & it’s definitely been one of my best wardrobe purchases. It’s the perfect staple to dress / sass-up any outfit!
OH MY LANTA! When I came across these fab floral pumps, I think my heart skipped a beat. So I went for the gold! Seldomely do you see wild, fun & colorfully patterned heels, & these can easily be a pop for any basic outfit. 🌸😍
What pieces are you OBSESSED with for spring?! What pattern/color is a must for you?
We all have those mornings where we’re running behind and trying to look semi decent at the same time. Here are 5 tips to always look your best (even when you’re running a few late…)!
Cheers to the freakin’ weekend, ya’ll! *clinks mimosa glasses 🥂
So we’ve all had those mornings where we’re running – nonstop – to do the hair, sweep on some makeup & toss on an above-average outfit for the day. This is often a challenge, especially when you’re racing the clock, & oftentimes traffic, e.g. every Monday morning…
No matter your style, budget or profession, with the right set of wardrobe skills there’s no reason to not look your best & slay the day away!
Read a few quick & simple tips below:
A black everything. ⬛️
I feel like I say this in most of my posts, but black is a closet staple. It’s always a safe bet (no matter the dress code) & it’s tough to mess it up. Pair an all black outfit with a statement necklace & you’re golden!
Wardrobe staples are key.
Keep your favorite tops, sweaters and jeans on rotation. Creating a “uniform” of sorts will save time & money. Seriously.
Offset makeup from outfit.
Don’t pair dramatic makeup with an over-the-top outfit, as it screams “it took me hours to get ready.” If you wear bold makeup, pair it with a more classic and simple look. I recommend checking out Tarte’s products, especially the Tartiest Matte Lip Paint! 💄
Fashion trend: half-tuck.
Casual + effortless ✔️ (this looks fab with jeans & dress pants)
A good pair of heels will always give you confidence, & they can be the statement of any outfit. 👠
Do you have any tips on what you do to complete a look?! Please share!
It’s Satur-yay! 🌼🌞 the weather here is gorgeous. I feel like spring fever is upon us…
I love getting dressed up as much as the next girl, but when it comes to the weekend I go for casual and comfort. Leggings and neutrals are usually my go-tos!
For all things comfort, I paired this light and chic Simply Vera jacket with LuLaRoe black leggings, grey GH Bass Oxfords and simple gold jewelry. + I feel like I blend in with nature – super neutrals, right?! 😉
AND let me just talk about this Vera jacket. It sinches in the inside and seemlesslu accentuates my waiste which elongates zee legs. The large front pockets are perfect to throw things in and the hood. No words. Shoutouts to Kohls! ❤
Oh my. The Oxfords! I recommend these for anyone and everyone. They’re so cute paired with skinny dress pants (I.e. Old Navy’s Pixie pants), jeans and leggings; they’re so versatile and comfy. I chose they grey with a subtle but pop of color, peach bottoms – just adds some feminism! You can find your perfect pair on GH Bass online.
So what do you wear for your weekends when you’re out and about?! Do you go for comfort or a bit more dressy?
Happy pre-Fri-yay, everyone! I can smell the weekend and a hint of warmer weather. 🌞 *throw hands up!
As earlier this week was the day of romance around the globe, I hope you all had a love/self-love-filled day! ❤💕
For me and my boyfriend’s Valentine’s Day dinner, we went to a delicious local restaurant called The Boat House (if you’re ever visiting the Columbus area, I highly recommend – the view and food are both incredible). 🌃🥂 Overall, the atmosphere was calm, romantic and so enjoyable. Definitely not like a standard Max & Erma’s visit…. 😉
I’m a lover of black. And I don’t say that lightly. While I love pattern and pops of color in my wardrobe, I can never get enough of black. I mean it’s such a staple, right?! Moreover, I’m a huge fan of all black outfits (all black errythang!). So for dinner, I wore this (out of my comfort zone) empire-waisted black and shimmery gold, velvet cut-out dress. I say it’s out of my comfort zone because I’d never even tried rocking an empire-waist and I’m not use to super low-cut tops in general.
Black tights and grey velvet heels finished off the look with minimal gold jewelry. Yeah, I know grey maybe didn’t go with zee outfit, but since they were paired with all black, the heels appeared darker, which was prime!
The details in the dress itself are gorgeous. There’s a sparkly gold underlay in the front and the bottom half of the back with tulle eyelets. Abercrombie & Fitch did a thang when they created this sassy dress!
All outfit details:
Dress: A&F (keep your eyes peeled for one-of-a-kind dresses from them – I’ve snagged a few over the years!)
Grey Velvet Pumps: Target
Lip shade: Kate Moss (by Rimmel London), number 30
What did you rock for the day of love? Did you throw in pops of reds and pinks to go with the day’s theme? ❤💕🌹
