Good evening, readers! 🌛 This weekend's weather has been perfect so far – not too steamy, just enough sun yesterday & just the right amount of clouds & cool breezes today. Talk about early autumn weather!! 🍂🌾
With the slow change in weather comes a transition of wardrobe. Now don't get me wrong, sometimes this shift is tough to gauge because summer temps can linger into the late fall. Denim is a great staple for these fluctuations, & grey is an easy neutral for nearly any outfit!
I paired this off the shoulder, striped, flowy top with dark denim jeans & Merona pearl sandals. Add a statement necklace & in all set. Plus, how can any girl turn down pearls, even costume pearls??
A few things that I'm obsessing over: – the sleeves on this top are split all the way up & adds so much flare – the jeans are a high-low hem – perfect for shorter females like me so they get right at the ankle 😉 – the pearl sandals are Steve Madden dupes! – all these pieces (excluding the pearls) are from Target! Seriously, my holy grail. I found the pearl slide sandals on a blogger's Instagram, looked a bit more into them and found that Steve Madden sells them for nearly triple the price at Target. AND they're so comfy! I 12/10 recommend you check them out – also sold in black!
What is your favorite not-quite-but-almost-fall-weekend-look?! What pieces are staples as you start rolling out the new wardrobe? 🌻
Hi there, HELLO! Happy Tuesday, readers! Let me just start off by gabbing about this absolutely gorgeous summer weather today – like all sun & cool breezes 😁🌞 that's what I'm talking about, Ohio!
I feel as though embroidery was HUGE when I was in grade school! I remember the "hip" embroidered, bootcut jeans and jean jackets like it was yesterday. Low & behold, embroidery is making a bold comeback!
My newest find is this jaw-dropping button down with gorgeous embroidered florals. The details in the stitches and the dainty bell sleeves flow so naturally. This top is so sweet. 🌸🌼 To top it off, you can find this at Target, babes!
My favorite part of this is the fact that the buttons are hidden with an over-layer – simple but adds a bit of class, & this blouse can be worn for business casual or out-&-about on a Saturday! I love dual-purpose pieces. & I LOVE the pattern underneath the flowers – mixing texture & colors. 😉
What "sweet little somethings" clothing piece are you over-the-moon about?! Feel free to share!
Special shoutout to one of my colleagues, Mai, for making me the adorable origami fashion pieces!
Happy (almost) Sunday, readers! Today was beyond gorgeous – bright blue skies, low humidity, 88 degrees and a gleaming sun. What more can you ask for?! 🌞
As this summer’s fashion trends have been rolling out, florals and bold colors have been HUGE! Now, don’t get me wrong, patterns and bold colors can undoubtedly be intimidating. The key to all things intimindation is confidence. If you dig the all-over, funky pattern, you rock it with confidence! Trust me, it will make every single outfit.
I found the most fun patterned Pixie pants and shorts from Old Navy recently.
I love these pants because you can mix a solid or a subtle pattern for the top to add a bit more sass & fun! The aloha flowers make me wish I were on vacation like no other. Also, I’m obsessed with Pixie pants in general – they’re always a perfect fit.
These coral palm tree printed shorts are more than perfect. They’re long but not too long, like “mom-long.” I paired these with a white tunic from Old Navy for a casual & chic summer look. These bad boys are my new favorite shorts. 🌴
No matter the color, no matter the pattern, always wear confidence. Life can’t be perfect, but your outfit can be. 🎀
What are some of your most loved summer patterns or pieces?
I’ve been awful with not blogging (story of my life/how I feel I start every post). None the less, I recently had the chance to catch up with a good friend who I hadn’t seen all summer. It was wonderful catching up and hearing about her road trip across America this summer! (It’s comforting knowing someone who you have such a strong friendship with that you can pick up right where you left off- nothing’s changed.)
After bfast and coffee, we stopped in one of my favorite shops, Vernacular (check out older posts w/featured clothing), and they had a pretty packed sales rack! + I’m all about finding deals! That’s what makes shopping so worth it; finding those hidden gems that don’t cost near the original ticket price!
I purchased this beyond comfy stripe French terry shift dress by Olive & Oak. I wore this to work with very neutral makeup and a dark, but subtle, maroon lipstick, with my hair in a mid-high pony- simple but put together.
What I’m most thrilled about is pairing it with black tights and brown leather boots this fall/winter! Or a fun blazer to add a bit more color to the dress. + Even more than stumbling upon stellar sale items, I love when you discover clothing you can mix/match and wear during more than one season!
I wanna hear from you: Do you have any pieces you rock during a couple seasons?! Let’s see ’em in the comments section!
Until next time, Xx
HELLO, beauties! It’s the first weekend of June (finally!) and summer attire is out to play! This is a different type of FashionFriday post, but I’m excited! The theme I picked is stripes. This pattern can be difficult to play with for any and every body type- honestly, it all depends on the cut and size of the stripes and the material the piece is made of.
In my last post, I mentioned a little boutique called Vernacular. Today, I decided to treat myself since I had my first pay from my new job, and bought this amazing black|white stripe dress! I fell in love with the light tan leather pockets on the front, and there’s a two-button detail on the left shoulder that adds a little fun detail. + A dress like this could be worn in nearly every season because while it is a bit thicker material, you could easily easily pair this with black hose and ankle booties or even basic flats! So versatile!
Now all I need is a pop of color with a statement necklace! What would you pair a dress like this with? I’d love to hear!
