Summer-Fun Patterns 🌼🌴

Happy (almost) Sunday, readers! Today was beyond gorgeous – bright blue skies, low humidity, 88 degrees and a gleaming sun. What more can you ask for?! 🌞

As this summer’s fashion trends have been rolling out, florals and bold colors have been HUGE! Now, don’t get me wrong, patterns and bold colors can undoubtedly be intimidating. The key to all things intimindation is confidence. If you dig the all-over, funky pattern, you rock it with confidence! Trust me, it will make every single outfit.

I found the most fun patterned Pixie pants and shorts from Old Navy recently.

I love these pants because you can mix a solid or a subtle pattern for the top to add a bit more sass & fun! The aloha flowers make me wish I were on vacation like no other. Also, I’m obsessed with Pixie pants in general – they’re always a perfect fit.

These coral palm tree printed shorts are more than perfect. They’re long but not too long, like “mom-long.” I paired these with a white tunic from Old Navy for a casual & chic summer look. These bad boys are my new favorite shorts. 🌴

No matter the color, no matter the pattern, always wear confidence. Life can’t be perfect, but your outfit can be. πŸŽ€

What are some of your most loved summer patterns or pieces?

Until next time, Xx

#OOTDΒ

Happy Tuesday – and Election Day, all! No matter your views and values, every vote counts. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ˜€

I made it into work super early (this time change is already throwing me… but I love it in the mornings!), and wanted to do a quick #ootd (outfit of the day post). While it’s not very “American-themed” like I feel everyone at work will be dressed, it’s a fun twist on some fall faves with a casual tunic. πŸ˜‰

Burgundy tights + leather booties πŸ™ŒπŸ»

I’ve had this medium-cream tunic for months and was never thrilled with accessories I paired it with. The burgundy tights, tank, ruffle socks + booties are the perfect matches for it! It feels very fall yet still comfy + chic.

I added a simple gold bar necklace for a bit of added texture.

Where can YOU get your hands on these pieces?

Vernacular: tunic (visit them @shopvernacular on IG or online)

Tights + necklace: target

Socks: Kroger Marketplace – hey, no shame πŸ˜‰

Franco Sarto booties: Nordstrom Rack πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Ahh, it’s your turn! What’s your outfit of the day?!

Until next time, Xx

Fall Essentials

Happy November 1st, all! The start of a beautiful month – nature and spiritual-wise. πŸπŸΏπŸ“Ώ

I feel like this is a commonly covered topic, but it’s always a blast to put together (& see others’) essentials for the season! I like to stick with basics for essentials because you can easily pair them with those fun-patterned, uniquely colored pieces. And yes, somewhat similar to my last post/a spin-off… but enjoy! πŸ˜‰

1. Skinny black pants – these babies can go with virtually any color and texture. You dress them up, dress them down, dress them however you want!

All black everything β–ͺ️

2. A blanket scarf – a heavier scarf can work for any sized woman (if wrapped correctly)! Promise (http://kellyinthecity.com/how-to-tie-a-blanket-scarf/). A blanket scarf adds a bit of personality and unique flare to an outfit, especially if you’re in hurry.

BIG SIDE NOTE: Yesterday, I didn’t have much with me for an outfit change between work & meeting my boyfriend, so I wore all black along with my mult-maroon/cream scarf and maroon flats. It worked. 😎

S/o to Braulio Fontanez for taking some great shots at Schiller Park

+ *EVEN BIGGER SIDE NOTE: if any of you aren’t native to Columbus and are in the area sometime, I highly recommend visiting Schiller Park in German Village. It’s beautiful scenery, good, calming vibes and an interesting history πŸŒΎπŸ‚

Alrighty! What are some of your fall wardrobe essentials? What’s your favorite piece to wear and how do you pair it?

Until next time, Xx

A Weekender OOTD

Ahh, these past few weeks have been loco: traveling, work and my annual winter cold… I’m so excited to be feeling better and back at blogging. πŸ˜‰
Shabby-chic rips, subtle textures and leopard print flats– what more could you ask for?!

Out-n-about weekender outfit

Lush
This casual weekend outfit is perfected with skinny ripped jeans (Hollister Co), cream sweater that has ever-so-mini cream dots (ELLE at Kohl’s), black boyfriend jean jacket (Hollister) and leopard flats (Target). Of course, a girl always has to accessorize! I added a fun Kate Spade bow bracelet with two of my favorite Alex & Ani bracelets.
I love the drastic mesh of ligh destroyed jeans with a slate black! The shades add a bit of edge to the look, while the dreamy cream sweater and flats add a bit of class.

What is your go-to weekender outfit?! Let’s hear!

Until next time, Xx

Fashion Staple Pieces

AYO! Happy Monday, peeps πŸ™‚
As promised, here is one of my favorite topics I wanted to share with you all: Wardrobe Staple Pieces! Woot woot!
As I’m still freshly new at my job, and the dress code is business casual/jean appropriate I want to continue to build my wardrobe with with pieces I can match for a whole slue of outfits! + I think it’s so fun to mix and match pieces to creat new and fun outfits for any occasion.
Here’s just a few fab pieces I’m looking to buy this summer:
1. Navy blazer: navy pieces can go with so many different colors, such as coral, white, grey, tan, white, yellow, other shades of blue, etc. I’m so excited to pair this with a coral peplum top I recently bought at Express, and with dark or light jeans- high waisted or hip-rise! Ahhh, and patterns! I think a patterned top would look stellar with a simple navy blazer.
2. Oxfords: I always seen young women sporting Oxfords, from black to tan to navy. Honestly, I really like tan/nude oxfords because I think they could pair with a wider variety of colors. Seriously, you could wear these little lace up shoes with a fun neutral, casual dress, jeans or even navy pants. The opportunities are endless!
3. High waisted black pants: While I do have a pair, I want another brand of black pants (mine are a little too stretchy for my taste….). At the same time, I wear these with so many different outfits- casual or work- based on the top(s) I’m wearing. They look so chic with pointed toed heels or flats and a skinny black belt! So many possibilities. + black goes with nearly any color (aside from navy).
Fashion Staple Items
Women’s Classic Blazer, Women’s Sueded Oxfrord Shoes & Women’s The Pixie Ankle Pants
I found all of these items on Old Navy’s website- a place I haven’t really shopped before… definitely some cute finds!
So bloggers, what are some staple items you currently own or want to own in the future? What do you pair them with?
Until next time, Xx
PS- A good friend of mine introduced me to a local boutique here in Columbus, OH called Vernacular. I have never liked nearly every piece at a store/boutique until I walked into one of their two locations! Check out Vernacular on their website at vernacular.myshopify.com or on their Facebook– they have a very interesting history, too! It’s slightly pricey, but all are pieces you wouldn’t find at a “big box” shop… Happy shopping!

FashionFriday

It’s FRIDAY, peeps! Fist pumps all around for making it through this beautiful week (at least here in Ohio)!

It’s been a whirlwind; I just wrapped up my first week at my first “real world job,” and I’m so eager to dive further in and progress with the company (oddly, I work for a software company called SPIDA Software and they develop/sell software programs to utility and telecommunication companies, and attend a plethora of trade shows. I am the new marketing coordinator! Wahoo!)

Anyways, this FashionFriday post will be short and sweet for your long Memorial Day weekend and festivities! The photo below is one of my favorite outfits I’ve ever put together (sorry, my mom is no photographer and I need to work on artistically posing for the camera at some point, haha). But as a whole, I paired dark, straight legged, ripped jeans with leather flip flops and a braided leather belt, both dark colors, with a “chill” tshirt (Yellow Springs, represent!) and a fun fedora.

Three words: casual, fun and chic. What are your favorite pieces that you own for a casual, fun and chic outfit? -Comments are always welcome!-

Hope you enjoy! Happy Memorial Day, all!

Xx
