Happy hump day, readers! We made it half way through the week 🙌🏻 AND it’s beginning to (finally) feel a lot like fall! 🎃🍂🐿 I love the cool morning air and warm afternoon sunshine – it helps make the getting-dark-early-part of fall bareable. 😌
As we’re moving into the cooler weather comes fun & fresh patterns & textures to rock!! For me, it’s primarily in the office. 💁🏻 hey, who said office-ware can’t be stylish?!
So I’m obsessed with lace! However, lace can be either classy or trashy (IMO). BUT Loft never fails @ showcasing some pretty rad lace, especially this tunic!
I discovered this gem at the Loft Outlet this past weekend, and I’ve linked a similar one here from Madewell. 😊 I paired this with a pair of simple Columnsit black pants from EXPRESS, along with these KILLER leopard hide/black booties! Oh my gah. 😍 talk about a statement shoe! The mix of lace & leopard print in one outfit is my FAVORITE combo so far this season!
I spotted these at G.H. Bass Outlet and new they were winners. It’s like business in the back and party in the front! 🎉 If you’re ever on the hunt for good shoes that are stylish but don’t break the bank, check out G.H. Bass & Co. (they always have great sales, too).
I finished off the look with loose curls, a pigmented rosey-pink lipstick (Kate Moss, 17) and a pendant necklace, and violá!
What is your top fall look, for work or play?! How do you mix your textures & patterns? 🎀 I’d love to hear!
Hi hi, readers! 🌞🍂 My favorite time of year is here, where the air smells of sea salt & maple everything, PSLs are all the rave & warm, dark florals are so in! 🌻
Aside from my obsessions with fall-scented candles & PSLs, I swoon over Target’s fall clothing pieces. Every. Single. Time! One of their newer lines, Who What Wear, is prime.
The bubble sleeves, the auburn florals & the pinstripes, SAY WHAAAT?! Yes. All in one. You need to check out this bubble sleeve shirt. No joke!
I love pieces that can easily transition from work to casual. Those are the pieces that build a staple wardrobe to can carry on for seasons. Pair this with a pair of navy pants and cognac heels, you’re set from 9-5. Switch it up for after hours with destroyed denim, a statement necklace & brown leather ankle booties.
Alright all! What is your favorite fall fashion piece/style/pattern? How do you rock it?! I’d love to hear! 🍁🌾
We all have those mornings where we’re running behind and trying to look semi decent at the same time. Here are 5 tips to always look your best (even when you’re running a few late…)!
Cheers to the freakin’ weekend, ya’ll! *clinks mimosa glasses 🥂
So we’ve all had those mornings where we’re running – nonstop – to do the hair, sweep on some makeup & toss on an above-average outfit for the day. This is often a challenge, especially when you’re racing the clock, & oftentimes traffic, e.g. every Monday morning…
No matter your style, budget or profession, with the right set of wardrobe skills there’s no reason to not look your best & slay the day away!
Read a few quick & simple tips below:
A black everything. ⬛️
I feel like I say this in most of my posts, but black is a closet staple. It’s always a safe bet (no matter the dress code) & it’s tough to mess it up. Pair an all black outfit with a statement necklace & you’re golden!
Wardrobe staples are key.
Keep your favorite tops, sweaters and jeans on rotation. Creating a “uniform” of sorts will save time & money. Seriously.
Offset makeup from outfit.
Don’t pair dramatic makeup with an over-the-top outfit, as it screams “it took me hours to get ready.” If you wear bold makeup, pair it with a more classic and simple look. I recommend checking out Tarte’s products, especially the Tartiest Matte Lip Paint! 💄
Fashion trend: half-tuck.
Casual + effortless ✔️ (this looks fab with jeans & dress pants)
A good pair of heels will always give you confidence, & they can be the statement of any outfit. 👠
Do you have any tips on what you do to complete a look?! Please share!
Ahh, another Monday is in our midst with the angst of work/school/to-do lists lingering in the back our minds. But that’s all part of life and soaking in every moment!
Today, I wanted to focus on a fashion topic I’ve struggled so much with as I’ve transitioned from my college wardrobe to slightly more conservative and classy collection. Yeah, I still plan on keeping “going out for drinks with the girls” or “date night” pieces, but I pick and choose a bit more now with the thoughts of, can I wear this for more than one occasion, is it “skanky” or classic looking, and does it show too much skin or just the right amount.
Stemming from this on the opposite end of the spectrum, I’m not a huge fan of business suits. I’m not too sure why… Maybe because they feel so restrictive, bland and basic? On the other hand, I know a female can spice up any outfit, include a “blah” navy business suit with a gorgeous statement necklace, pattern button down and kitten heels.
I don’t currently own a business suit, which I know I probably should… My work dress code is business casual, but jeans on a daily basis are acceptable.
Anyways, I attended this marketing conference, local in Columbus this past week. The event included learning about the history of marketing and the inbound marketing software company who hosted the conference (obviously) tried “selling” their software. I figured it would also be a perfect event to network and learn more about the overall marketing industry and struggles that others may face in the profession. All of the pre-seminar emails said “business casual” and I instantly started planning an outfit in my head! This is where I got to thinking about investing in a business suit… Maybe I should wear one to something like this? After a ton of back and forth, I decided to break out my favorite straight-legged black dress pants from Banana Republic (I adore these babes because while I am pretty short, hitting the mark at 5’3″, they end right at my ankles!); my favorite “baby-doll” Jacquard Polka Dot top from Vernacular (my fave boutique in Cbus!) and maroon and subtle black polka dot flats from Old Navy. I actually ended up changing into Ann Klein black kitten heels with bows prior to heading into the conference.

Jacquard Polka Dot Top
All in the details
A little sheer black back
I love this outfit because it’s classic, professional and original for me! The sleeves hit maybe 3 inches above the elbows along with a higher neckline. The top is also a bit flowing as opposed to form-fitting. The event turned out to be pretty great (and no one had a similar outfit on 😉 )!
What would you wear to an event such as this? Any tips to share?!
Happy Wednesday, peeps! We’re almost through this beautiful summer week– at least it’s sunny and not too toasty here in Columbus; loving life!
Ahh, I hate that I haven’t posted FashionFriday in a couple weeks, but sometimes life is a whirlwind of the unexpected.
Today, I wanted post these simple but chic flats of mine from the one and only… Target. Sometimes I struggle with finding a subtle pattern or design to throw in with my work outfit, and these little babes are beautifully illusion-full- an every-changing design to the human eyes.
These have grown to be one of my favorite summer shoes and are unexpectedly comfy. Sometimes a simple summer shoe is all you need to bring an outfit full circle.
What are some of your fav/must-have/to die for summer shoes?
