Happy (almost) Sunday, readers! Today was beyond gorgeous – bright blue skies, low humidity, 88 degrees and a gleaming sun. What more can you ask for?! 🌞
As this summer’s fashion trends have been rolling out, florals and bold colors have been HUGE! Now, don’t get me wrong, patterns and bold colors can undoubtedly be intimidating. The key to all things intimindation is confidence. If you dig the all-over, funky pattern, you rock it with confidence! Trust me, it will make every single outfit.
I found the most fun patterned Pixie pants and shorts from Old Navy recently.
I love these pants because you can mix a solid or a subtle pattern for the top to add a bit more sass & fun! The aloha flowers make me wish I were on vacation like no other. Also, I’m obsessed with Pixie pants in general – they’re always a perfect fit.
These coral palm tree printed shorts are more than perfect. They’re long but not too long, like “mom-long.” I paired these with a white tunic from Old Navy for a casual & chic summer look. These bad boys are my new favorite shorts. 🌴
No matter the color, no matter the pattern, always wear confidence. Life can’t be perfect, but your outfit can be. 🎀
What are some of your most loved summer patterns or pieces?
We all have those mornings where we’re running behind and trying to look semi decent at the same time. Here are 5 tips to always look your best (even when you’re running a few late…)!
Cheers to the freakin’ weekend, ya’ll! *clinks mimosa glasses 🥂
So we’ve all had those mornings where we’re running – nonstop – to do the hair, sweep on some makeup & toss on an above-average outfit for the day. This is often a challenge, especially when you’re racing the clock, & oftentimes traffic, e.g. every Monday morning…
No matter your style, budget or profession, with the right set of wardrobe skills there’s no reason to not look your best & slay the day away!
Read a few quick & simple tips below:
A black everything. ⬛️
I feel like I say this in most of my posts, but black is a closet staple. It’s always a safe bet (no matter the dress code) & it’s tough to mess it up. Pair an all black outfit with a statement necklace & you’re golden!
Wardrobe staples are key.
Keep your favorite tops, sweaters and jeans on rotation. Creating a “uniform” of sorts will save time & money. Seriously.
Offset makeup from outfit.
Don’t pair dramatic makeup with an over-the-top outfit, as it screams “it took me hours to get ready.” If you wear bold makeup, pair it with a more classic and simple look. I recommend checking out Tarte’s products, especially the Tartiest Matte Lip Paint! 💄
Fashion trend: half-tuck.
Casual + effortless ✔️ (this looks fab with jeans & dress pants)
A good pair of heels will always give you confidence, & they can be the statement of any outfit. 👠
Do you have any tips on what you do to complete a look?! Please share!
Happy pre-Fri-yay, everyone! I can smell the weekend and a hint of warmer weather. 🌞 *throw hands up!
As earlier this week was the day of romance around the globe, I hope you all had a love/self-love-filled day! ❤💕
For me and my boyfriend’s Valentine’s Day dinner, we went to a delicious local restaurant called The Boat House (if you’re ever visiting the Columbus area, I highly recommend – the view and food are both incredible). 🌃🥂 Overall, the atmosphere was calm, romantic and so enjoyable. Definitely not like a standard Max & Erma’s visit…. 😉
I’m a lover of black. And I don’t say that lightly. While I love pattern and pops of color in my wardrobe, I can never get enough of black. I mean it’s such a staple, right?! Moreover, I’m a huge fan of all black outfits (all black errythang!). So for dinner, I wore this (out of my comfort zone) empire-waisted black and shimmery gold, velvet cut-out dress. I say it’s out of my comfort zone because I’d never even tried rocking an empire-waist and I’m not use to super low-cut tops in general.
Black tights and grey velvet heels finished off the look with minimal gold jewelry. Yeah, I know grey maybe didn’t go with zee outfit, but since they were paired with all black, the heels appeared darker, which was prime!
The details in the dress itself are gorgeous. There’s a sparkly gold underlay in the front and the bottom half of the back with tulle eyelets. Abercrombie & Fitch did a thang when they created this sassy dress!
All outfit details:
Dress: A&F (keep your eyes peeled for one-of-a-kind dresses from them – I’ve snagged a few over the years!)
Grey Velvet Pumps: Target
Lip shade: Kate Moss (by Rimmel London), number 30
What did you rock for the day of love? Did you throw in pops of reds and pinks to go with the day’s theme? ❤💕🌹
Happy Fri-yay, all! 🙆🏻🌸 We made it through another week– another week of warm, mid-Ohio weather. On the sunny side, this is the perfect time to pull out (or buy new) your unique summer dresses!
One of my latest purchases is from my fav clothing boutique, here in Columbus, Vernacular! (I now work for Vernacular’s sister-store, Objects for the Home, and I highly recommend checking both out online– Vernacular even offers online ordering– so what could be better?!)
I was a tad skeptical about this dark nude dress and resembling that of a paper bag… But with the right jewelry (a bold statement necklace) and shoes, this show-stopper piece is complete. 👌🏻💁🏻 I must say that is extremely comfy and flowy! I finished my look with Revlon Berry Haute lipstick- I cannot get enough of it! Next, I’d love to pair this dress with black strappy heels to add a bit of contrast.
What is your fav type of summer dress– dress, casual?! Let’s hear!
Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! Whether your spending the day with a significant other or enjoying the day stuffing your face with candy, a best friend and Netflix– cheers! Love is one feeling the world can always use. 💖
For this love and pink/red-filled holiday, I put together an a casual and comfy look: a classic black fitted dress with chunky wool socks and ankle combat booties. To add a bit of glam, a pink/iridescent statement necklace. + add a little pink lipstick to take the dress up one more notch 💄😘
Black fitted dress: Old Navy
Tan ankle combat booties: Sam&Libby at Target
Chunky grey socks: Banana Republic
Statement necklace: Target

Hey, readers! It’s been a loco past week at work. Bright side: I’m in (somewhat) sunny Orlando- nice get-away from the Ohio snowstorm.
So I was at a trade show that my company is exhibiting at this week and continued to see this young woman circle around throughout the afternoon. I thought to myself how much I adored her chic outfit! Little did I know I had a meeting scheduled with her later on in the day. Upon meeting, I excitedly expressed how I admired her outfit. 😉
Long story short, I love that she paired a neutrally-colored, pattern shift dress with bright sapphire blue flats. The pop of color was perfect! Side note: the exhibition is for the utility industry which is primarily filled with men, some women and lots of bland color… It was refreshing seeing her professionally-chic outfit. Well done, Libbie!
Happy Monday, ya’ll! While it’s the start of another week, there is fall beauty all around– from crisp orange and maroon leaves to the cool, night wind. And with that comes fun fall fashion looks!
Today’s look consisted of a couple solid pieces of different textures! I picked up this oh so cozy and comfy A-line dress at my favorite shop in Columbus, Vernacular! The pull over dress is as warm as wool without the itchiness- there’s even a thick lining underneath! The best part: black velvet elbow patches to add a bit of sass and flare! For work and warmth, I paired this with my favorite pair of yummie tummie black velvet leggings (an amazing line created by Heather Tomson). These leggings are so warm and are a variation of silver/black. These brown leather booties are a a perfect neutral pop of color! I’m not normally too much into olive green, but this dress is a classic fall shade.
Ok, let’s hear it, what’s your favorite fall dress? What’s your “go-to” comfy look?
