Happy Friday-eve, readers! 😉🍂 & to top it off, the fall weather we’ve been having in Ohio has been perfect this past week; the vivid orange and brown hues, the crisp breeze & all the fall layers!
One huge trend this season is suede. And another style that’s slithered it’s way back into the fashion scene (which I’m so happy about!) is snap-front mini skirts. LIKE HELLO, yes, please give me all of them + every color of tights! 🤗😍 but seriously, these take me back to my early grade school days… #tbt.
I snagged this fun suede skirt from Old Navy, & it pairs with so much! Again, staples are key. 😉 I paired this with a classic cream sweater from way back in the day, but it’s adorable with a plain or patterned turtleneck or a black & White stripped tee. Throw on neutral tights + your favorite booties & you’re set for the day! (Ps: I featured these show-stopper booties in my last blog post – check it out!)
Have you dived into the snap-front skirts again?! If so, what do you love to pair with it? I’d love to hear!
Happy Sunday, babes! ☕️ It’s finally feeling like the cool, crisp autumn we’ve been waiting for 🎃🍁🌞 PRAISE!
With this change in weather comes a shift in wardrobe. On a brief side note: I feel as though my taste in clothing has altered so much since graduating from college. Now, I search for staple pieces that can be worn in the office and out with the girls or my boyfriend at night. With that, I’m all about the sweaters, long or fitted, blanket scarves, plaid or solids and all the warm, dark fall colors! 🤗
I recently found this killer navy, double-peplum sweatshirt from Banana Republic. I’m obsessed! It’s pairs perfectly with these knee-ripped, high low hem jeans from Target, plus (throwback!) these gold mules by Franco Sarto (I found this pair at Mashall’s). Hi, yes! I’m over-the-moon obsessed with mules this season! They’re different, fun, casual & super easy for any outfit. You need to get a pair. Or five. 😉
What is your go-to weekend wear? Are there any colors or patterns you’re excited to rock this season?! I’d love to hear! 😀
Good evening, readers! 🌛 This weekend's weather has been perfect so far – not too steamy, just enough sun yesterday & just the right amount of clouds & cool breezes today. Talk about early autumn weather!! 🍂🌾
With the slow change in weather comes a transition of wardrobe. Now don't get me wrong, sometimes this shift is tough to gauge because summer temps can linger into the late fall. Denim is a great staple for these fluctuations, & grey is an easy neutral for nearly any outfit!
I paired this off the shoulder, striped, flowy top with dark denim jeans & Merona pearl sandals. Add a statement necklace & in all set. Plus, how can any girl turn down pearls, even costume pearls??
A few things that I'm obsessing over: – the sleeves on this top are split all the way up & adds so much flare – the jeans are a high-low hem – perfect for shorter females like me so they get right at the ankle 😉 – the pearl sandals are Steve Madden dupes! – all these pieces (excluding the pearls) are from Target! Seriously, my holy grail. I found the pearl slide sandals on a blogger's Instagram, looked a bit more into them and found that Steve Madden sells them for nearly triple the price at Target. AND they're so comfy! I 12/10 recommend you check them out – also sold in black!
What is your favorite not-quite-but-almost-fall-weekend-look?! What pieces are staples as you start rolling out the new wardrobe? 🌻
Hello, hello, and happy Friday-eve, everyone! ✨ Ahh, I hope you all enjoyed the Summer Solstice this week, especially as the toasty temps are hitting hard already! Like HEY, what’s up, hello, summer! 🌞🌞🌞
Along with welcoming the change in season, I did my typical wardrobe shopping binge (I say binge but I seriously only jump on the deals. I mean you have to)! A new season is the reason for new clothes 💁🏻 right, ladies?!
It hits right at the waist, so not too long and not too short. This warm oatmeal shade is truly neutral so it can be paired with nearly every color and pattern! It’s also a prime staple piece. 🌸
While it’s a super casual top that’s seriously so cozy, I jazzed it up for the office with a triple strand of pearls – seriously, if you’re ever on the hunt for costume jewelry, scavenge estate sales or garage sales in your area – super eclectic and fun!
I love these because they’re dressy but not over the top crazy. They have a kitty cork wedge to add just a bit of height, too! These bad boys look stellar with skinny black dress pants and destroyed denim jeans – so basically perfect for the office and the weekend. It’s a win win.
What are some of your top summer buys for your wardrobe? Is there an essential you feel every girl should have?! 👗👛
We all have those mornings where we’re running behind and trying to look semi decent at the same time. Here are 5 tips to always look your best (even when you’re running a few late…)!
Cheers to the freakin’ weekend, ya’ll! *clinks mimosa glasses 🥂
So we’ve all had those mornings where we’re running – nonstop – to do the hair, sweep on some makeup & toss on an above-average outfit for the day. This is often a challenge, especially when you’re racing the clock, & oftentimes traffic, e.g. every Monday morning…
No matter your style, budget or profession, with the right set of wardrobe skills there’s no reason to not look your best & slay the day away!
Read a few quick & simple tips below:
A black everything. ⬛️
I feel like I say this in most of my posts, but black is a closet staple. It’s always a safe bet (no matter the dress code) & it’s tough to mess it up. Pair an all black outfit with a statement necklace & you’re golden!
Wardrobe staples are key.
Keep your favorite tops, sweaters and jeans on rotation. Creating a “uniform” of sorts will save time & money. Seriously.
Offset makeup from outfit.
Don’t pair dramatic makeup with an over-the-top outfit, as it screams “it took me hours to get ready.” If you wear bold makeup, pair it with a more classic and simple look. I recommend checking out Tarte’s products, especially the Tartiest Matte Lip Paint! 💄
Fashion trend: half-tuck.
Casual + effortless ✔️ (this looks fab with jeans & dress pants)
A good pair of heels will always give you confidence, & they can be the statement of any outfit. 👠
Do you have any tips on what you do to complete a look?! Please share!
Ahh, another Monday is in our midst with the angst of work/school/to-do lists lingering in the back our minds. But that’s all part of life and soaking in every moment!
Today, I wanted to focus on a fashion topic I’ve struggled so much with as I’ve transitioned from my college wardrobe to slightly more conservative and classy collection. Yeah, I still plan on keeping “going out for drinks with the girls” or “date night” pieces, but I pick and choose a bit more now with the thoughts of, can I wear this for more than one occasion, is it “skanky” or classic looking, and does it show too much skin or just the right amount.
Stemming from this on the opposite end of the spectrum, I’m not a huge fan of business suits. I’m not too sure why… Maybe because they feel so restrictive, bland and basic? On the other hand, I know a female can spice up any outfit, include a “blah” navy business suit with a gorgeous statement necklace, pattern button down and kitten heels.
I don’t currently own a business suit, which I know I probably should… My work dress code is business casual, but jeans on a daily basis are acceptable.
Anyways, I attended this marketing conference, local in Columbus this past week. The event included learning about the history of marketing and the inbound marketing software company who hosted the conference (obviously) tried “selling” their software. I figured it would also be a perfect event to network and learn more about the overall marketing industry and struggles that others may face in the profession. All of the pre-seminar emails said “business casual” and I instantly started planning an outfit in my head! This is where I got to thinking about investing in a business suit… Maybe I should wear one to something like this? After a ton of back and forth, I decided to break out my favorite straight-legged black dress pants from Banana Republic (I adore these babes because while I am pretty short, hitting the mark at 5’3″, they end right at my ankles!); my favorite “baby-doll” Jacquard Polka Dot top from Vernacular (my fave boutique in Cbus!) and maroon and subtle black polka dot flats from Old Navy. I actually ended up changing into Ann Klein black kitten heels with bows prior to heading into the conference.

Jacquard Polka Dot Top
All in the details
A little sheer black back
I love this outfit because it’s classic, professional and original for me! The sleeves hit maybe 3 inches above the elbows along with a higher neckline. The top is also a bit flowing as opposed to form-fitting. The event turned out to be pretty great (and no one had a similar outfit on 😉 )!
What would you wear to an event such as this? Any tips to share?!
Happy weekend, ya’ll! ‘Tis the season for holiday cheer and Jack Frost nipping at your rose! While it may be chilly, you can stay warm while still looking your best. The answer: layers.
Plaids, basic tees, sweaters and vests are your best friends. Oh, not to mention, statement necklaces!
This past week I played around with a few layered looks that are casual chic, perfect for any day occasion! Ranging from a plaid with a navy sweater to a fur vest and basic tee, and a quarter zip with a multi-colored plaid.
Have fun, play around with colors and textures and create your own layered looks to stay cozy and cute this holiday season! Now it’s your turn to share your faves! 😉
