Style Saturday: Leisure Wear

It’s Satur-yay! 🌼🌞 the weather here is gorgeous. I feel like spring fever is upon us…

I love getting dressed up as much as the next girl, but when it comes to the weekend I go for casual and comfort. Leggings and neutrals are usually my go-tos!

For all things comfort, I paired this light and chic Simply Vera jacket with LuLaRoe black leggings, grey GH Bass Oxfords and simple gold jewelry. + I feel like I blend in with nature – super neutrals, right?! πŸ˜‰

AND let me just talk about this Vera jacket. It sinches in the inside and seemlesslu accentuates my waiste which elongates zee legs. The large front pockets are perfect to throw things in and the hood. No words. Shoutouts to Kohls! ❀

Oh my. The Oxfords! I recommend these for anyone and everyone. They’re so cute paired with skinny dress pants (I.e. Old Navy’s Pixie pants), jeans and leggings; they’re so versatile and comfy. I chose they grey with a subtle but pop of color, peach bottoms – just adds some feminism! You can find your perfect pair on GH Bass online.

So what do you wear for your weekends when you’re out and about?! Do you go for comfort or a bit more dressy?

Thanks for reading & have a fab weekend!

Until next time, Xx

Date Night: Valentine Edition

Happy pre-Fri-yay, everyone! I can smell the weekend and a hint of warmer weather. 🌞 *throw hands up!

As earlier this week was the day of romance around the globe, I hope you all had a love/self-love-filled day! β€πŸ’•

For me and my boyfriend’s Valentine’s Day dinner, we went to a delicious local restaurant called The Boat House (if you’re ever visiting the Columbus area, I highly recommend – the view and food are both incredible). πŸŒƒπŸ₯‚ Overall, the atmosphere was calm, romantic and so enjoyable. Definitely not like a standard Max & Erma’s visit…. πŸ˜‰

All of the city lights feeling like we were literally on a boat house ✨ (+ Alex’s first appearance on le blog!)

I’m a lover of black. And I don’t say that lightly. While I love pattern and pops of color in my wardrobe, I can never get enough of black. I mean it’s such a staple, right?! Moreover, I’m a huge fan of all black outfits (all black errythang!). So for dinner, I wore this (out of my comfort zone) empire-waisted black and shimmery gold, velvet cut-out dress. I say it’s out of my comfort zone because I’d never even tried rocking an empire-waist and I’m not use to super low-cut tops in general.

Hints of gold + a bright burgundy lip stain

Black tights and grey velvet heels finished off the look with minimal gold jewelry. Yeah, I know grey maybe didn’t go with zee outfit, but since they were paired with all black, the heels appeared darker, which was prime!

The details in the dress itself are gorgeous. There’s a sparkly gold underlay in the front and the bottom half of the back with tulle eyelets. Abercrombie & Fitch did a thang when they created this sassy dress!

All outfit details:

  • Dress: A&F (keep your eyes peeled for one-of-a-kind dresses from them – I’ve snagged a few over the years!)
  • Grey Velvet Pumps: Target
  • Lip shade: Kate Moss (by Rimmel London), number 30

What did you rock for the day of love? Did you throw in pops of reds and pinks to go with the day’s theme? β€πŸ’•πŸŒΉ

Thanks for reading!

Until next time, Xx

Style Saturday: Fave Recent Snags

Hey-oh! HAPPY SATURDAY, lovelies! πŸ’•β˜•οΈ

As winter feels like it’s officially setting in here in Columbus, warm layers are πŸ—!

I get so bored with leggings and jeans… ALAS cargo pants have made a HUGE comeback! I honestly never thought I’d make that statement, ever. The pockets add a bit of texture and pizzazz to the pants – subtle and not too crazy!

Neutrals + Pattern = Solid Go-To

I’ve paired these bad boys with my all-time-favorite turtleneck! I love this piece because it’s comfy, stripped (perfect basic pattern) and is long enough to cover the goodies! πŸ˜‰ What more could you ask for?! Shoutouts to Target for all then good goods, too!

You can pair a look like this with a fun and sassy necklace, too! This long pendant necklace (Vernacular) is always my top pick for nearly any outfit because of the mix of wood + clear beads, gold accents and opaque pendant. Easy breezy!

All about the neutrals + texture

To finish, these new, grey velvet, chunky pumps from Target are where it’s at. They’re a bit different but can be the perfect finish for lots of looks. Plus, they’re just the right amount of sass. πŸ˜‰

Alright! What are some of your favorite recent buys?! What do you pair them with (new or old)?

Until next time, Xx

Ps: I love this quote – “Life isn’t perfect but your outfit can be.” I feel this rings true. Life isn’t always controllable. But what you wear is 100% within your control. Make it count!

Style Saturday: My Closet

Oh my lanta, it’s the freakin’ weekend! πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ˜‰ BUT it’s 24 degrees, which calls for major sweater/blanket sweater weather. Can we actually survive 6 more weeks of this?! ❄️
So despite the chilly winter weather, my closet comes to the rescue!

Staples are key.
I’m all about staying warm, comfy & fashionable. With that, I stick with staples. Staples & neutrals. Mixing the two together can easily make wild and different outfits that you can wear time & time again! And I’m all about the sweaters: long, short, bulky & light.

Now, let’s talk blanket scarves. They can be worn as a scarf while outside or even as an accessory! And you can twist and fold them so many different ways. Like hello, LOVE!! Even with blanket scarves, I try to pick neutral colors that can be worn with all different outfits!

Ponchos are fab. They add warmth & style to any look. Black, grey & cream are my favorite colors: prime for pairing statement jewelry. ✨

Blanket scarves, ponchos & hats… OH MY!
Side note: this gorgeous wardrobe saved my wardrobe, curtsey of a dear friend of mine. I recommend a wardrobe if your tight on space or are looking for a statement piece to utilize.

So what’s in your wardrobe?! What pieces do you stay warm with? Let’s hear!!

Until next time, Xx

Style Saturday: Functional & Fashionable – Handbag Edition

Happy Satur-YAY/happy weekend, readers! I hope you all have had at least 5 minutes to stop and take a breath after this week – I don’t know about you, but my week was a whirlwind! ✨

So I’ve been wanting to put together a weekly post with a consistent theme… I’m always indecisive when it comes to topics and what I want to share, but here we are, “Style Saturday!” If you have thoughts on what you might like to see/read for these weekly posts, shout it out to me!

Handbags are everything to a woman. They can hold anything and everything imaginable while out-&-about. Big or small, crossbody or shoulder, purses are meant to be fashionable and functional.

I picked out a few types of F & F purses from my (ever-growing) collection:

This Dooney & Bourke crossbody is hands down my fave! (Ps never underestimate local thrift shops… sometimes they have the best gems!) This bag has some ahh-mazing hidden storage areas which makes plenty of room for lipsticks, gum, charging cords & all the other essentials πŸ˜‰β€

Cognac & creamy tan make for the perfect neutrals
A hidden area for cards, moolah & change. What more could you ask for? So functional!

This lush crossbody is the perfect mid-size bag. The tassel adds just a bit of sass in the bag’s detail, too.

Kate Spade Southport Avenue Maria (pretty fitting…)
AHH! This flap makes for perfect storage for a wallet or planner! Whatever you store within, it doesn’t land in the inside of the purse, rather in the back, separate from everything else. Too perfect!

And of course, every female has her go-to catch-all bag! This GH Bass bag is perfect for one reason: it’s reversible! LIKE HI, YES! It can turn from black to congac in a matter of seconds. πŸ˜‰ 10/10

A catch-all bag is essential for traveling or even to use as a work bag. And neutrals are a must!

Whew! Ok, now I want to see some of your favorite fashionable & functional handbags? Where do you tend to find yourself buying handbags, or do you collect a variety of brands?! πŸ‘›

Until next time, Xx

It’s Tulle Time ft. Carrie Bradshaw, aka the infamous SJP πŸ’‹

Hey Fri-YAY! It’s nice to see you again. But really, TGIF. Eventhough it was a shortened week for most, it felt like eons. Just me?!… very possible. πŸ˜‰

With Friday follows the glorious weekend that we all look forward to! A material that I’m obsessed with for basically any outfit or occasion is tulle. I discovered my love for this material when I started watching my now favorite tv show in high school, Sex & the City starring the ever-so-fabulous Sarah Jessica Parker! As Carrie Bradshaw in S&TC, she flaunts dazzling fashion (even in pjs) as she lives her wild, fun and love-filled life in NYC. These two outfits undoubtedly stood out to me and that was that… Ps every girl needs to watch S&TC. Like now, if you haven’t already! ❀

Tulle, tulle & more tulle

With the help of Carrie Bradshaw, I put together a couple show-stopping, tulle-filled outfits that are perfect for a night out, or dress them down with black booties and a bit less jewels. πŸ˜‰βœ¨

Tulle blush skirt and tutu crop top from A&F
Tulle cream tutu from A&F, reversible black tank from EXPRESS

Now it’s your turn. How do you style your tulle?!

Until now, Xx

Wake & Slay: All About That Plaid

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE EVE, everyone! Despite the chilly, rainy weather, I’m so excited for holiday festivities and love and gift giving and of course, copious amounts of mouth-watering food; hey, it’s the holla-daze, right?! πŸ˜‰πŸŽ„β„

Even with the holidays (less than 48 hours!) near, many of us still had put in that 9-5 this week. Wake and slay. ✨ And in order to slay the days, cozy yet professional outfits are there at the ready.

I’m ob-sessed with plaid – any form of plaid! I discovered this super comfy and versatile plaid LuLaRoe Cassie skirt (no, I’m not going totally mainstream with my fashion choices) recently and paired it with navy tights, a neutral sweater and my beloved cognac booties! πŸ˜‰

Side notes:

1. LuLaRoe definitely has some fun, fashionable and comfy pieces! I would recommend checking out consultants you may know or searching for them on Facebook. πŸ‘—

2. This Cassie skirt doubles as an infinity  scarf! Like how wild is that?! AND it actually looks really cute.

IN LOVE with the vibrant navy & red plaid patterns on the Cassie, especially paired with navy tights!

I’ve been wearing daily this dainty Me to awe Rafiki necklace/bracelet from Fossil! It adds a bit of boho and femininity to any outfit – and yes, that’s totally possible!

With the type of outfit that your comfortable and confident in, you have all the power to slay the day, whether it’s at the office or out-n-about! And this time of year is perfect to pull out any and all plaid to stay cozy and comfy.

What plaid pieces are you obsessed with?! How do you rock them?!

Merry Christmas to all! β„πŸŽ„βœ¨
