Happy Tuesday, babes! Whew, this past month has been jam-packed with life/fun activities/good chaos. 🌞🌸
But holy Toledo. I wanted to share my new favorite makeup find that I recommend for all females. Whether you’re tired from taking care of kids, working multiple jobs or just exhausted from life, Tarte’s Shape Tape will actually erase all those lines and dark circle from under your eyes. SAY WHAT?! No, I’m not kidding. It’s magic in a tube. Like hi, yes, slay! (S/o to Tarte Cosmetics!) 💕
And here’s a quick how-to apply:
First, a before (I feel like I exhib more lines under my eyes with a bit of darkness)…
Next, apply Shape Tape with the tube’s wand in the shape of triangles under your eyes, on the chin crease and T-area of forehead. This helps with light that reflects on your face (decreases the shine).
Then you gently blend in the Shape Tape with a blending sponge (I have a pack of blending sponges from Target & they work perfectly)!
Violà! It’s seriously magical. ✨✨✨
Shape Tape is sold in 10+ shades, so it can work for any skin tone!
Do any of you use Shape Tape as well — what are your thoughts? Or is there another makeup product that you think is gold?! I’d love to hear!
Happy Fri-yay, all! 🙆🏻🌸 We made it through another week– another week of warm, mid-Ohio weather. On the sunny side, this is the perfect time to pull out (or buy new) your unique summer dresses!
One of my latest purchases is from my fav clothing boutique, here in Columbus, Vernacular! (I now work for Vernacular’s sister-store, Objects for the Home, and I highly recommend checking both out online– Vernacular even offers online ordering– so what could be better?!)
I was a tad skeptical about this dark nude dress and resembling that of a paper bag… But with the right jewelry (a bold statement necklace) and shoes, this show-stopper piece is complete. 👌🏻💁🏻 I must say that is extremely comfy and flowy! I finished my look with Revlon Berry Haute lipstick- I cannot get enough of it! Next, I’d love to pair this dress with black strappy heels to add a bit of contrast.
What is your fav type of summer dress– dress, casual?! Let’s hear!
Happy pre-Friyay, y’all! I don’t know about you, but I’m soooo happy about the start of April– looking forward to fresh-weekly flowers, cool, crisp air and the vibrancy of beautiful spring colors in full swing!
While I was laying in bed after a long day of rain and in-office work, I thought about a topic I’ve always wanted to write on: essentials. Do you ever have those mornings where you’re running 45 minutes behind and you can barely wipe your face clean, let alone throw a few swipes of mascara on? Yeah, we’ve all had those days! 🙋🏻
I’ve compiled a fun set of essentials for just these types of mornings. I picked items I felt channel class with a bit of sass, yet are very simple to mix together!
1. A little lipstick never hurt nobody! If you only have time for mascara and a bit of blush, throw on a bit of lip color. I’m OBSESSSSED with this Revlon Berry Haute lipstick. Lip color will easily complete any look.
2. I LOVE my tortoise patterned Ray Bans! Throw on a pair of sassy shades and you are ready to conquer the day ahead! I also always have to wear a few of my gold bangles with any and every outfit (aside from my gym outfits!). They add a bit of subtle personality to any look. Here, (slightly blocked) I have the Compass Alex & Ani and small bow Kate Spade bracelet– both very different but highlight my interests.
3. Nude, and I’m not talking about getting naked, rather a very simple and not too high nude heel. The pointed toe adds a bit of sass but is so simple and classy to add to any outfit, including dark jeans for a casual Friday look! These bad boys are my new faves. They’re Comfort Plus heels from Payless, and let me tell you, I could run around downtown Columbus all day in these and not feel a thing (just about…)!
Shades on, bracelets bangin’
A smack of color!
What are your “go-tos” when you’re running behind for work or on the weekend? Comment below!
Happy Monday, bloggers! Hopefully you had your large coffee this morning and are ready to conquer the week! 😉
This weekend, I had the pleasure of attending a wedding of a close family friend (so beautiful and sweet!- Congrats, Matt and Megan!), and I wanted to share my makeup look and outfit for the occasion.
I opted for a glam smokey eye with the assistance of my Tarte Energy Noir pallet and “night look” step-by-step insert. I am faithful in using bare minerals foundations and bronzer, and added sweeps of the “unearthed” blush, E.L.F. black liquid liner and Benefit’s They’re Real mascara +Revlon Blissful Berry lipstick. I was floored when the makeup was still on point hours later after much shaking it out on the dance floor!!
My look: Carey Bradshaw inspired. I love S&TC- hands down my favorite show from the late 90s/early 2000s. So thanks, SJP! 😉
I discovered this gorgeous Taryn Midi Length Tutu at A&F this past February, along with the mid-sleeve black crop top. I paired this with a pink and white iridescent statement necklace from Target and my favorite touch (may be difficult to see): black sheer window-pane patterned stockings from EXPRESS. And the final touches were 3″ black pointed toe heels (from way back when…) and a black/silver leather clutch.
I love picking outfits that no one else will wear! And honestly, YOU can rock anything with a little bit of confidence and attitude- promise. Stand out from the crowd, girl! 😉
I’d love to hear your thoughts and if you have that ONE outfit you adore wearing!!
With the excitement of fall and new releases of candles, Starbucks’ PSL and sweaters galore, along with a lokko couple weeks at work, I’ve been slacking on posts.
On the bright side, during my mini vaca to see a close friend at VCOM in Virginia, I made one of the best purchases… I think almost ever: Tarte Energy Noir eyeshadow and blush pallet at Sephora.
I’ll admit, normally I religiously stick to and only recommend my Urban Decay NAKED3 pallet (which is FAB and I highly recommend for any skin tone!), but I’m obsessed with Tarte’s Exposed Amazonian clay blush! I was on the hunt for a new compact of blush and saw the Noir pallet was only a few dollars more with 9 shadows!- steal of a deal, right?!
Before purchasing, I had one of the makeup artists brush on a bit of the “Unearthed” blush to see if I look “ya or nah,” and it was on point!
The eye shadow shades are phenomenal, ranging from looks you can put together for day or night with some girly shimmer for highlighting and subtle tones of purple to blend in nooks, cranked and all your eye creases! 😉
Be sure to check it next time you’re on the hunt for blush, eye shadow or both!
For a little sneak peak of a look with the Energy Noir clay pallet…. + follow @tartecismetics on Instagram for all makeup updates! Eeekkkk!
Do you have a fav eye shadow pallet and/or blush you faithfully stick with?
I’ve been awful with not blogging (story of my life/how I feel I start every post). None the less, I recently had the chance to catch up with a good friend who I hadn’t seen all summer. It was wonderful catching up and hearing about her road trip across America this summer! (It’s comforting knowing someone who you have such a strong friendship with that you can pick up right where you left off- nothing’s changed.)
After bfast and coffee, we stopped in one of my favorite shops, Vernacular (check out older posts w/featured clothing), and they had a pretty packed sales rack! + I’m all about finding deals! That’s what makes shopping so worth it; finding those hidden gems that don’t cost near the original ticket price!
I purchased this beyond comfy stripe French terry shift dress by Olive & Oak. I wore this to work with very neutral makeup and a dark, but subtle, maroon lipstick, with my hair in a mid-high pony- simple but put together.
What I’m most thrilled about is pairing it with black tights and brown leather boots this fall/winter! Or a fun blazer to add a bit more color to the dress. + Even more than stumbling upon stellar sale items, I love when you discover clothing you can mix/match and wear during more than one season!
I wanna hear from you: Do you have any pieces you rock during a couple seasons?! Let’s see ’em in the comments section!
Until next time, Xx
HAPPY TUESDAY! As promised, I tried the classic makeup look I posted yesterday from Wander Beauty: light eye shadow, black eyeliner and rosy/maroon lips! Excuse the lighting of the photo- I took it in the Women’s bathroom at work and it turned out pretty harsh regardless…
Products I used: Naked 3, a mix of Strange and Limit; Elf black liquid liner (normally I would spend more than $3 on eyeliner, but I love this stuff and it lasts quite a while!); Maybelline Blissful Berry lipstick (darker if you apply a decent amount, and lighter as the day wears on.)
What are some of your fav products for a similar, classic look?
